Bad news – you are going to die (eventually, everyone will). Good news – it’s completely safe to eat. According to America’s test kitchen, this white “gunk” is called albumin. And it’s protein, not fat. So, more good news.

Even if you try a gazillion ways to cook your salmon to get rid of this weird white stuff, guess what, you’re always gonna be stuck with eat. So eat away for the protein!
